SumWare REMOTE is actually a two-tier application; (1) PDA (Palm) based program that supports Customer and Inventory Lookup, full Order-entry, Inventory Control, Sales Force Automation, and Bar Code scanning, that interfaces with (2) SumWare REMOTE Control, the Windows based desktop middleware product that manages the data flow between the PDA, the Windows PC and optionally any Windows business accounting application. SumWare REMOTE features the ability to instantly scan barcodes, access product (up to 65,000 items) and customer information, create multiple open orders, print invoices, quotes, or orders, POS with payment entry option (cash, check, or charge) - ideal for Trade Shows. SumWare REMOTE Control is the Windows desktop component that downloads and uploads data to and from the remote (PDA) system. The HotSync utility of the Palm operating platform permits the rapid transfer of data to the remote system as required. SumWare Mobile Data Corporation has developed interfaces for several accounting programs and can do the same for any system that can export and import flat (ASCII) files. This program acts as a repository for the data gathered by the PDA's, allowing immediate retrieval of any order/invoice/quote that has been downloaded from the PDA, including the ability to reprint such documents.
